Can I extend CHT and EGT Thermocouple probes?

Can I extend CHT and EGT Thermocouple probes?

Should you wish to increase the length of the leads of your CHT or EGT probes, this can be done.

Our type-K EGTs and CHTs probes should be extended with type-K extension wire directly to the RDAC, or if the RDAC is mounted outside the engine compartment (or if you are connecting directly to a Single instrument) then type-K extension should be used at least until the sender lead exits the engine compartment (where temps are high). This is due to our instrument's cold-junction compensation that measures the temperature of the cold junction of the thermocouple at the RDAC (or the instrument if a Single).

Attached instructions can be used for CHT or EGT.
