VDO Oil Pressure Sender Settings and Wiring

VDO Oil Pressure Sender Settings and Wiring

Attached are settings and wiring connections for the commonly-used VDO Oil Pressure Sender. This can be used to help if you are experiencing problems or if you suspect your oil pressure sender is reading incorrectly.

Remember to follow tthese 3 Steps first when troubleshooting senders.

  • VDO Oil Pressure sender has 1/8” NPT male threads

  • Sender either has 1 terminal (VDO 360-004) or 2 terminals (VDO 360-025)

  • If sender has 1 terminal, it is Signal and the Case of the sender must be grounded to Engine Block or RDAC Ground by clamping or brazing a wire to the case

  • If sender has 2 terminals, there are two options:

    • If terminals are labeled G and WK, G is the signal and WK is not used. The Case is ground.

    • If the terminals are not labeled, then one terminal is to be signal and the other is to be connected to ground. The polarity is not important.

  • Run a hose off the oil supply with a female 1/8” NPT fitting and connect to Oil Pressure sender
